초록
대학의 사진기록은 대학의 정체성을 확립하고 역사적 증거를 제공하는 매우 가치 있는 기록의 유형 중 하나이나, 텍스트와 달리 의미전달의 취약성을 갖고 있으므로 사진기록의 정보가 포괄적으로 기술되지 않으면 이용자의 검색과 활용이 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 대학기록관 사진 아카이브를 위해 사진기록의 분류체계를 구조화하고, 분류 내의 카테고리 특성을 반영한 메타데이터 셋 개발을 시도하였다. 이를 위해 국내와 미국 대학기록관의 사진기록 분류체계와 메타데이터 요소를 분석하고, 정보구조 모형을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 정보구조 모형을 통해 대학기록관 사진기록의 데이터 품질을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 이용자에게는 사진기록에 대한 풍부한 디스커버리를 지원할 수 있다.
Abstract
Photographic archives of universities are one of the most valuable types of records that establish the university’s identity and provide historical evidence. Unlike text records, however, they are weak in conveying meanings. Therefore, it is difficult to support users' search and utilization unless the information of photo records is comprehensively described. In this study, for the university photo archives, we tried to structure the classification system of photo archives and develop a metadata set that reflects the category characteristics in the classification. To this end, the photo archives classification system and metadata elements of domestic and American university archives were analyzed and based on this, the model of information structure was proposed. The information structure model presented in this study can help university archives improve the data quality of their photo archives and support users with the abundant discovery of photo archives.

이 연구의 목적은 다양한 기관과 단체, 개인 등이 네트워크에 기반하여 민간기록물을 수집할 수 있도록 관련 법령·제도 개선 방향을 제시하는 것이다. 연구를 위해 해외 기록물관리기관의 민간기록물 관련 법령과 제도, 층위에 따른 네트워크 협력 현황과 지원 내용을 조사하였다. 이를 기반으로 민간기록물과 관련된 정의와 기관 간의 역할 지정, 층위에 따른 네트워크 협력 방향을 제언하였다. 특히 특정 기관 중심의 협의체가 아닌 기관, 단체, 기업, 개인 등 다양한 주체들이 참여하는 협의체를 법제화·제도화하는 것을 강조하였다.
Abstract
This study seeks to present the direction of improving related laws and systems to allow various institutions, organizations, and individuals to collect private records based on the network. For the study, the current status of network cooperation and support according to laws, systems, and layers related to private records of overseas records management institutions were inspected. Based on this, the definition of private records, role designation between institutions, and direction of network cooperation according to the level were suggested. In particular, legislation and institutionalization of consultative bodies involving various subjects, such as institutions, organizations, companies, and individuals, were emphasized.
초록
파주중앙도서관은 2017년부터 ‘시민채록단’을 구성하여 파주에서 오랫동안 살아온 사람들의 생애를 구술 채록하는 ‘휴먼 in Paju’를 실시하였다. 이 성과를 토대로 전국 최초로 도서관에 ‘기록관리팀’을 신설하였고, 이후 조례를 제정하고 민·관으로 구성된 위원회를 구성하면서, 기록화 사업의 지속적 조건을 갖추었다. 또한, 모든 단계에서 공론화와 협업을 중시하여 파주시 전체에 기록화 사업의 중요성을 알리고, 시민 스스로 기록화 사업의 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 체계를 만들었다. 이 같은 기초자치단체 도서관의 사례를 소개하고자 한다.
Abstract
With the objective of recording the life stories of Paju’s long-time residents, the Paju Central Library has been implementing the “Human in Paju” project by forming the Citizen Oral History team since 2017. Building upon the success of this initiative, Paju Central Library became the first library in the country to establish a Records Management team. Subsequently, regulations were enacted, and a committee comprising citizens and officials was formed to ensure the continuous development of the archival project. Moreover, they emphasized public discourse and collaboration at every stage by creating a system to raise awareness of the importance of archiving throughout Paju and support citizens in becoming active participants in the project. This paper aims to present a case study of this exemplary local government library.
