초록
국가기록원 등 많은 기록관에서 온라인 검색도구를 적극 활용하고 있으나 여러 측면에서 개선이 필요한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국가기록원을 중심으로, 호주, 영국, 미국의 국립기록관에서 제공하는 온라인 검색도구 현황을 분석하였다. 또 호주, 영국, 미국 국립기록관의 검색도구를 직접 사용하여 각각의 장단점을 파악해 보도록 하기 위해, 실제 이용자들을 선정하여 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 통한 평가를 실시하였다. 그 결과를 기반으로, 전반적 기능 및 계층별 검색, 검색옵션 및 주제어검색, 검색결과제시, 기록정보콘텐츠 서비스 등의 측면에서 온라인 검색도구의 개선 및 발전 방향을 제시하였다.
Abstract
Many archives, including the National Archives of Korea, use online finding aids. However, in many aspects, they need improvement. In this study, with focus on the National Archives of Korea, the online finding aids of the National Archives of Australia (NAA), The National Archives (TNA) of United Kingdom, and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) of the United States were analyzed. Focus group interview was administered to users of the archives, identifying the pros and cons of online finding aids of NAA, TNA, and NARA. Based on the results, various improvement and development directions are suggested, including aspects on overall functions and hierarchical search, search options and subject search, representing search results, and archival contents services.

기능별 분류체계나 출처 중심의 탐색은 이용자들에게 쉽지 않으며 키워드검색도 이용자가 입력한 검색어와 기록물명의 단순 매칭 결과만 제시하여, 이용자의 기대에 부응하지 못하고 있다. 대통령기록관에서는 주제 분류체계를 개발하여 기록검색의 효율성을 높이고자 하였으며, 이와 연계하여 이용자들의 검색 과정을 돕고 기록관리 업무에도 용어통제 등 도움을 줄 주제 시소러스를 개발하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 대통령기록물 건명을 형태소 분석하고, 관련 시소러스와 이용자가 웹사이트에 입력한 검색 용어 및 정보공개 청구용어 등의 현황을 면밀히 분석한 후, 주제 분류체계와의 매핑을 통해 주제시소러스를 개발한 과정을 제시한다. 또한 주제 시소러스의 업무 및 온라인 서비스에의 활용 방안을 제시하며, 앞으로의 발전방향을 제시한다.
Abstract
To search based on the functional classification or provenance is not easy for users, and the key word-based information retrieval presents only simple words matching with the title of the records. The Presidential Archive of Korea developed a subject classification scheme to improve the convenience of searching for various records and came up with a subject thesaurus based on the scheme that utilizes the terms appearing on the title of the records and the terms used by the users who searched the portal or requested information disclosure. This research presents the development process of subject thesaurus. It also presents the utilization methods for records management work and services.
