초록
김대중도서관은 아시아 최초의 대통령도서관으로 25만여 점의 사료를 소장하고 있는 민간대통령기록관이다. 주로 김대중 전직 대통령의 생애, 근현대사, 민주화 등에 관련한 기록물을 수집하고 있으며 이를 관리하고 활용하여 사료사업, 전시사업, 연구사업 등을 진행하고 있다. 국내 민간대통령기록관은 기념재단이 주체가 되어 운영하고 있는 경우가 대부분이지만 김대중도서관은 고등교육기관이 운영하고 있다는 특이점이 있다. 이에 따라 기록물을 기반으로 하여 역사, 민주주의에 대한 교육적 역할을 수행하며 연구자에게 자유로운 연구 공간을 제공하고 기록물을 통한 연구를 지원할 수 있도록 하는 목표를 가지고 있다. 본 고에서는 교육기관의 부속기관이며 민간대통령기록관인 김대중도서관의 대표적인 기록정보서비스에 대한 사례를 소개하고 앞으로 대통령기록관의 과제를 제시하고자 한다.
Abstract
The Kim Dae-jung Library is Asia's first presidential library and is a private presidential archive with over 250,000 historical materials. It mainly collects records related to the life of former President Kim Dae-jung, modern and contemporary history, and democratization, While most of the private presidential archives in Korea are operated by memorial foundations, the Kim Dae-jung Library is unique in that a higher education institution operates it. Accordingly, it aims to take an educational role in history and democracy based on records, providing free research space for researchers, and supporting research through records. This report introduces examples of the Kim Dae-jung Library’s representative archival information service, an affiliated institution of educational institutions and private presidential archives, and presents the future tasks of the presidential archives.

이 연구에서는 웹사이트를 통해 한국 관련 해외기록물을 서비스하고 있는 기관인 국가기록원, 국립중앙도서관, 국사편찬위원회, 국방부 국방편찬연구소 4개의 기관을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 국내 기관에 분산되어 있는 서비스 되고 있는 기록물을 이용자들이 쉽게 기록물의 내용을 파악할 수 있도록 하고 통합하여 검색할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 이를 위해 총 163,874건을 수집하여 이용자가 다각적으로 기록의 내용을 훑어볼 수 있도록 하는 방안으로 주제분석을 하였고 패싯과 토픽을 도출하였다. 도출된 패싯과 토픽을 기반으로 토픽맵을 구성하였다.
Abstract
This study selected four institutions, namely the National Archives of Korea, the National Library of Korea, the National Institute of Korean History, and the Institute for Military History, that have collected the foreign records about Korea, providing web services for users. A total of 163,874 records were collected from these institutions to analyze the topics of the records, which resulted in a proposed topic map with 7 facets as top levels. This study suggests an integrated and visualized tool using a topic map to improve the searching service of foreign records about Korea from Korean institutions, especially the US records related to Korea.
