초록
예술기록의 조직에 있어서 정리는 기록의 생산 및 축적의 맥락을 보존하는 중요한 작업이다. 그러나 우리나라 예술아카이브에서는 출처 및 원질서의 원칙에 기반한 정리가 소홀히 다루어지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 예술기록의 정리와 분류의 개념과 차이를 정리하고, 국내외 예술기록 정리와 분류 현황을 비교 분석함으로써 이제 시작단계에 있는 우리나라 예술기록 조직업무의 문제점을 밝히고 개선방향을 제안하였다.
Abstract
Archival arrangement is essential process to preserve the context of art archives creation and accumulation while classification is important to search archival collections by their topic, type or business process. But archival arrangement is not being taken seriously in most art archives in Korea. The purpose of this study is to analyse the arrangement and classification issues of art archives in Korea, and to suggest some principles and strategies for organizing art archives more systematically. This paper begins with identifying the difference between arrangement and classification and analyses some cases of visual and performing art archives in Korea and United States in terms of archival organization. Based on these analyses, it gives some suggestions for improving the quality of arrangement and classification in Korean art archives.

현재 국내 공연예술 아카이브는 영상을 통해 기록을 포착하는 데 집중하고 있어, 정작 중요한 공연 제작 과정이 담긴 기록과 이를 통한 콘텐츠 서비스는 미흡하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 활용 패러다임으로 변화하는 현시대의 기록정보콘텐츠의 중요성을 인식하여 공연예술 분야의 영국과 미국의 국립극장 홈페이지의 기록정보콘텐츠 사례를 분석하여 시사점을 도출하고, 이를 한국 공연예술박물관 기록정보콘텐츠에 개선 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 공연예술박물관의 홈페이지 미션과 비전, 콘텐츠 9건을 분석하여 미흡한 점을 분석하였고, 영국 국립극장 콘텐츠 107건과 미국의 콘텐츠 27건, 그리고 기관 홈페이지의 미션과 비전을 살피고 시사점을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 제시된 공연예술박물관의 개선 방안은 공연예술박물관의 미션과 비전에서 목표 이용자와 실행과제 구체화, 전문가 협업, 콘텐츠 미리보기 보안, 단일한 주제를 가진 콘텐츠 다수 제작, 국립극장 유튜브 내의 카테고리 부여가 필요하였다.
Abstract
At present, domestic archives within the realm of performing arts predominantly focus on recording through videos, yet they often lack comprehensive documentation of crucial production processes and content services. Recognizing the contemporary significance of archival content services, this study analyzes the archival content within the national performing arts archives websites of the United Kingdom and the United States, serving as international benchmarks. The findings extrapolate insights and implications to propose enhancements for the Museum of Performing Arts in the National Theater of Korea. The analysis focused mainly on the missions and visions on the websites, examining 107 contents from the UK National Theater, 27 from the United States, and 9 from Korea. The suggested improvements encompass clarifying target users and execution tasks in the mission and vision statements, fostering expert collaborations, incorporating preview features, curating content with a single theme, and organizing a comprehensive list on the National Theater’s YouTube channel.

국립아시아문화전당은 아시아문화중심도시 조성에 관한 특별법에 근거하여 설립된 복합문화예술기관으로 아시아문화의 조사연구, 자원 수집, 자료보존과 열람, 전시⋅공연 등의 콘텐츠 창제작과 유통, 국제 교류, 문화예술 교육 등의 기능을 수행한다. 이와 같은 기능 중에서도 특히 조사연구와 아카이브는 아시아문화를 연구⋅수집하고, 이를 아카이빙 하여 그 자료를 연구자, 창제작자, 일반인들에게 제공하는 중심 역할을 수행한다. 본 연구는 이러한 조사연구 및 아카이브 업무의 한계점을 분석하고, 각 업무 간 연관성의 중요도 및 필요성에 따라 전당에서 추구해야 할 연구 자료의 가치와 아카이브는 무엇인지 종합적으로 판단하여 개선방안을 마련하고 나아가 전당 발전전략의 기반으로 삼고자 한다. 도출된 과제로 ‘정체성 및 방향성 확립’, ‘연구 및 수집 대상의 주제와 범위 설정’, ‘선순환 체계를 위한 개선방안 필요’, ‘네트워크 구축 확대’를 설정하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 ① 조사연구 및 수집 대상의 정체성 및 방향성 확립, ② 주제 및 범위 설정과 표준 체계 마련, ③ 선순환 구조 체계를 위한 활용성 제고 및 활성화 방안 마련 ④ 연구 및 아카이브 네트워크 확장을 향후 개선방안으로 제시하였다.
Abstract
The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is a complex culture and art institution established on the foundation of the special law regarding establishing a cultural hub city of Asia. The ACC plays the central role in studying, collecting, and archiving Asian cultures to provide relevant materials and data to researchers, creators, producers, and the general public. This study aims to analyze the limitations of the aforementioned survey, research, and archive works and establish paths to improvement through the integrated determination of the values and archives of the research materials that the ACC should pursue according to the level of importance and necessity of relevance between each task. Furthermore, the center aims to utilize the study’s findings as to the foundation for its advancement strategy. Tasks deduced for these purposes included “establishing an identity and directionality,” “establishing a topic and scope of the subjects of research and collection,” “needing the means to support the establishment of a cycle system,” and “expanding network establishment.” Based on these tasks to be pursued, ① establishing the identity and directionality of the subjects of the survey, research, and collection, ② setting the topics, and establishing a standards system, ③ establishing the means of enhancing and activating the utilization for the virtuous cycle-structure system, and ④ expanding the research and archives network that were presented are the means for future improvements.
