초록
본 연구는 기록 전문직의 지식 범주에 관해 외국의 지침서를 먼저 살펴보고 이와 함께 국내 기록 전문직 양성 프로그램과 교과과정을 비교해보았다. 그리고 국외 기록 전문직의 양성 사례를 4개국을 중심으로 짚어본 후, 기록 전문직 양성 프로그램의 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 기록 전문직 양성 프로그램의 개선 방향으로 전문성을 개발해 줄 수 있는 대학원 교육의 강화, 다양한 학문의 참여와 시도를 통한 다학문적 교과목의 개발 및 확대, 기록관리 지식이 균형 있게 짜인 교과과정 편성, 이수 학점의 상향 조정, 기록관리학 전공의 박사학위를 소지한 전임 교원의 충원, 실무와 연구 지식범주의 교과목 강화, 기록관리학 표준교과과정의 개발과 기록 전문직의 전문성 증진을 위한 교육기관, 기록관리 전문 학․협회, 기록 관련 기관 간의 파트너십 형성과 적극적인 활동을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study are to find core domains of archival knowledge based upon two guidelines from foreign countries, and to analyze current status of archival education programs and curriculums in Korea and other countries. Based upon the analysis, several new directions for archival education in Korea are suggested as follows: strengthening the archival graduate programs for archival profession, developing and expanding interdisciplinary courses based upon participation and trial of various related disciplines, increment of graduate credits, hiring of the Ph. D. full-time faculty in archival studies, strengthening internship and research courses, developing a standard curriculum for archival education, and active participations and partnerships among archival graduate schools, professional archival societies, and archival related institutions.

구술기록의 보존과 관리는 국가 유산의 지식 창출과 활용이면서 지역 문화의 가치향상을 도모하는 것으로 공공도서관은 구술사를 통해 국민의 삶을 재조명하고 그들의 기록을 수집, 활용, 보존해야 하는 사명을 지니고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 공공도서관의 구술기록물 관리에 관한 개선방안을 모색하고자 문헌연구와 현재 구술기록을 수집하고 있는 공공도서관 담당자의 설문조사 및 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 그 결과를 바탕으로 구술기록물 관리를 위한 정책과 매뉴얼 수립, 공공도서관 업무 담당자들의 구술기록물 수집⋅활용⋅보존⋅관리에 대한 전문 능력을 고양시키는 개별 교육프로그램 마련, 지역의 구술사를 활용한 홍보 전략의 개발, 구술기록물 보존을 위한 장기적 환경 마련 및 활용 다각화, 구술기록물의 수집⋅활용⋅보존에 대응할 수 있는 충분한 전문인력 배치를 제안하였다.
Abstract
The preservation and management of oral historical records are for creating and utilizing knowledge of national heritage and promoting the value of local culture. Furthermore, one of the missions of the pubic libraries is to realize the general utilization of records by reexamining people’s lives and employing oral historical records to preserve their rights and benefits. This study attempted to find ways to improve the management of oral records in public libraries through literature reviews, surveys, and in-depth interviews with public library staff to gather detailed opinions on oral records in public libraries. Based on the discussions concluded in this study, establishing policies and manuals for oral records management, sufficient professional workforce, specialized education programs for staff development in collecting, preserving, recording and managing oral historical records, public relations strategies, and preparation of a long-term preservation environment for thorough digitalization were suggested for the improvement of the collection, utilization, preservation, and management of oral records in public libraries.
